A problem Simon had lived with for 25 years
As a practising NHS consultant, Dr. Simon Merritt had watched the same problem repeat itself across thousands of first specialist appointments. Incomplete histories. Missing referral details. Patients asked to recount what they'd already told their GP, their receptionist, and their referral letter.
It wasn't a technology problem - it was a workflow problem with a straightforward solution, if someone would build it properly. Simon partnered with Timothy Antos, whose previous company Kokoon Technology scaled to 250,000 users and £15 million in revenue before acquisition by Philips, to do exactly that.

MyPreConsult supports workflow and documentation. It does not diagnose, triage, or make clinical recommendations. Every output is editable, traceable, and subject to clinician approval.
Patient data is never sold or shared
Patient data is never used to train AI models. It is stored in the UK only, processed under strict GDPR controls, and never shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Built for scrutiny, not just compliance
Certifications are a floor, not a ceiling. We design systems we're comfortable explaining to a regulator or a procurement lead. Security documentation is available on request.
What we believe about clinical AI
Every clinical output should be more traceable than a human consultation, not less.
In a conventional consultation, the path from what the patient said to what appears in the clinic letter is opaque. Our SafeProvenance™ technology traces every statement in the clinical summary back to the patient's own words and the clinical guidelines that informed it. Turn by turn. Statement by statement. This is auditability at a level that is structurally impossible in a human-only consultation.
A single AI model, like a single opinion, is never the full picture.
Our ClinicalQuorum™ architecture brings together multiple AI models from different providers, each with a defined governance role and isolated memory. The primary clinical AI always retains decision authority. Secondary models check and verify; they never override. When models disagree materially, the case is flagged for clinician review. This is clinical governance applied to AI.
AI should know its limits.
Different conditions have different diagnostic ceilings achievable through patient history alone. Our system knows those ceilings, derived from published clinical guidelines, and adapts the interview accordingly. It balances clinical thoroughness for the clinician with efficiency for the patient on every turn. When the ceiling is reached, the interview wraps up rather than continuing to ask questions that would add burden without adding signal.
